When Selena Quintanilla-Perez died in 1995, the world was shocked. Thousands of fans attended a vigil in Corpus Christi the night before the funeral, and as many as 50,000 people walked past her casket at a public showing the next day. It was clear that while everyone was in mourning, the people of Corpus Christi took it especially hard, so it makes sense that this is the home of Fiesta de la Flor. This two-day music festival honors Selena’s life, and it is becoming an annual tradition. This year’s festival will take place on April 13 and 14 at North Bayfront Park. The Lineup
There are going to be a ton of artists at Fiesta de la Flor, including The Mavericks, Elida Reyna, and Los Palominos. Becky G is getting the most buzz, though. She’s collaborated to make some updated versions of Selena’s songs, but she also has some hits of her own. “Mayores” is the most notable of her hits.
All in all, there are enough musicians to fill the stage for two days, so this is going to be quite a tribute.
The Panels
Fiesta de la Flor will also have some panels. The One Person Unites Us panel is expected to be the biggest hit of the festival. Selena’s sister Suzette Quintanilla will be on this panel. The panel will also feature Desi Perkins. She’s a YouTube sensation who is known for dressing up as Selena for the MAC X Selena collection. She’s also a huge Selena fan and will likely have quite a bit to say at the panel.

The Fireworks
The event will end with a fireworks presentation by H-E-B. It will start at 11:30 p.m., and it will act as a tribute to the late singer. Be sure to stay late so you can see it. It will likely be quite moving.
