History of the Art Center of Corpus Christi

The Art Center of Corpus Christi can trace its origins back to 1972, when a small group of citizens decided that the area would benefit from such a facility. They designed it for people to see art, try art, buy art, and learn art. A remodel in 2000 transformed the Center into a multi-purpose institution that thrives in the heart of Corpus Christi’s Bayfront district. After more than 50 years in existence, the Art Center of Corpus Christi remains a destination for artists, school groups, visitors, tourists, and community members to view original artwork and engage in the experience of creating their own art.
