Did you know that cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of Americans? It’s true. But when you come out to the Coastal Bend Heart Walk, you can take steps to prevent and end it. On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., head to the Whataburger Field here in Corpus Christi, Texas, to participate in a 5K that will encourage healthy living and promote the end of cardiovascular disease as we know it. Plus, it raises funds for the American Heart Association, so you can feel good about the fact that you are doing something positive for the community when you come out.

Noncompetitive Run/Walk
Even if you’re not an avid runner, you can still have a lot of fun at this event. That’s because it’s a non-competitive event that makes things fun for everyone. Whether you run every day and love it, or you haven’t laced up your shoes in a long time, you’re welcome to come out and get your sweat on. Run, walk – whatever feels best to you! After all, this is all about having fun, getting healthy, and raising money to support those with heart disease – not about competing.
Kids’ Zone
This event isn’t just for the adults. Make sure you come out and experience all it has to offer by visiting the kids’ zone, as well. Your little ones can learn a lot about heart disease all while doing so in a fun and educational environment. They may even make some new friends while they’re there!
